Science Slams

Science slams are a method for communicating science to and engaging the general public. In January 2022, the NSF MRSEC group held its first ever set of science slams which were open to the public for viewing and voting. Each MRSEC center presented a slam and as you’ll see, slams can incorporate any art form such as music, comedy, video editing, memes, and more.

Arjan Singh represented the CCMR and the Photonic Materials IRG-2 with “The World Wide (Quantum) Web

Alice Zhang has also made a fun slam called “Membrane Microbots” describing some of her IRG-3 work using 2-D atomic membranes to make 3-D systems.
