Glass Shop

Located in S.T. Olin Hall, Room B-66, the Cornell Center for Materials Research Glass Shop specializes in providing high-quality scientific glassware services to researchers and students. Whether you need custom glassware for individual experiments, repairs for damaged glass, or consultation on your glassware needs, we are here to help.  We can create intricate and precise tolerance glassware to your specific requirements. Visit us soon in S.T. Olin Hall, Room B-66 to learn more about how our scientific glassware services can support your research and academic endeavors.  

The shop plans to be open full time in June 2024.

The glass shop provides the ability to have custom glassware fabricated with Borosilicate glass ranging from 2mm—114mm and quartz glass from 2 mm—60 mm.

Consult: Unsure about the type of glassware you need?  We provide expert advice and consultation to help you choose the right glassware design for your experiments and research.

Design & Fabricate: the CCMR glass shop manager can work closely with you to design and fabricate custom glassware, such as electrochemical cells, spray chambers, reaction vessels, chromatography columns, and more!

Repair: we can repair damaged glassware, modify existing equipment, and resize glass components to fit your experimental setup.  Please bring your cleaned glassware to the shop, or send a photo via email and we can give you an estimate.  (Please note all glassware must be clean in order to perform repair.)
