CAT Projects with NY State Industry Partners

CCMR collaborates with the Cornell University Center of Advanced Technology (CAT)  to support entrepreneurial development for life scientists and biotechnology industries in New York State.

The Cornell CAT offers grants to Cornell faculty to support collaborative projects with New York State industry partners to advance an early stage life science technology, moving it closer to commercialization.

The CCMR will sponsor selected awarded CAT grants having materials-related needs including the development or use of materials in their biotechnology and medical applications or prototypes. The CCMR sponsorship will amount to $5,000 per project.

The  sponsorship funds are provided through a matching grant from NYS Empire State Development (ESD) to the CCMR.

Please note that the ESD office requires us to report annually economic impacts that resulted from the CCMR-funded collaboration to demonstrate return on the state’s investment. The partner companies will be contacted by the CCMR up to 5 times over the following 5 years after the completion of the project to assess their satisfaction with the project and its business impact.

The CCMR will write press releases, success stories and articles with the collaboration of the industrial partners to showcase the CCMR program and the partner company.
