The Cornell Center for Materials Research  Co-Sponsors Collaborative Projects with Industry Partners from CAT selected and M.Eng projects to Internships

The Industrial Partnerships Program solves real-world challenges using a science-based, uniquely collaborative approach. It Provides:

World-class Capabilities:

Access renowned faculty and experts, and state of the art equipment.

  • Fast and easy access to  Cornell experts and to the instruments available in the CCMR Shared facilities enabling industry partners to solve short-term and long-term technical challenges.

Streamlined Solutions Access: 

Connect with Cornell experts through fast, easy and cost-effective solutions. Matching funds to industry partners helping them solve technical issues through:

  • The Invest program
    • For  large and small businesses, rolling enrollment
    • No cap in budget & duration; INVEST 10% match; INVEST-NY 25% match
  • The JumpStart program
    • For NYS small businesses ONLY , competition, twice a year: spring and fall, 1 semester duration
    • $15K not-to-exceed budget; 33% match
  • The Explore program
    • for NYS businesses for initial use of a CCMR instrument or training
    • 33 % match up to $500
  • Partnership with the  Cornell CAT 
    • For NYS businesses
    • $5,000 additional funding for materials related CAT award
  • Collaboration with Entrepreneurship At Cornell
    • For NYS small businesses
    • up to $1,000 co-sponsorship of a Cornell summer internship
  • Co-sponsorship of selected Materials Science M.Eng Projects
    • For NYS businesses
    • $15K not-to-exceed budget; 33% match
  • A large network of Cornell and NYS service providers
