Printing Single Crystal Quantum Dots Solids

Professor: Tobias Hanrath

Tobias HanrathProject Description
: Join the Hanrath lab and help us create materials for renewable energy harvesting using a bottom-up approach. Learn about the possible sustainable sources of energy, and the ways of conversion and utilization. We focus on materials structured on the nanoscale, showing properties not achievable in conventional systems. In the proposed project, we aim to assemble nanoscale building blocks, colloidal quantum dots into larger structures exploiting their self-assembling properties. We aim to do it using an industrially relevant, scalable technique, inkjet printing. During this project you can learn about the science and technology of colloidal nanocrystals (physical chemistry), the tricks of ink formulation and optimizing the printing process (chemical engineering) and the possible applications (energy and sustainability). (This project is offered In-Person)
