Raman Microscopy Workshop in Biology & Electronic Materials – August 13-14, 2019

Register for the Raman Microscopy Workshop in Biology & Electronic Materials.

Please join us on August 13-14, 2019 for a workshop featuring live instrument demonstrations and lunch seminars. The new Confocal Raman Imaging Microscope located in Bard Hall SB30 will be demonstrated by a WITec Application Specialist. Lunch seminars will focus on topics where correlative imaging techniques such as Raman, Photoluminescence, Fluorescence, X-Ray, and Electron Microscopy can be employed to gain detailed understanding of sample composition and intricate nanostructure-chemistry-function relationships.

Discussion and instrument demonstration is open to all application areas of interest. Please register here and indicate which day(s) and instrument demonstration(s) you plan to attend.

Lunch seminar presenters:

Jennie AMR Kunitake, PhD Candidate

Materials Science & Engineering, Cornell University

“Correlative spectroscopy and mapping of breast cancer calcifications”

Erik A. Taylor, PhD Candidate

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Cornell University

“Validation and implementation of Raman measures of bone quality”

Dr. Vladimir Protasenko, Senior Research Associate

Electrical and Computer Engineering (Prof. Grace Xing Research Group), Cornell University

“Extending WITec capabilities beyond specifications: TERS, elastic scattering, photocurrent mapping, stressed Raman, and AFM imaging of layered materials”
